Ransomware is an ever-evolving form of malware designed to encrypt files on a device, rendering any files & the systems that rely on them unusable. Malicious actors then demand ransom in exchange for decryption.
A ransomware event involving a San Jacinto College device or issued account (like Microsoft 365 Student/Employee email) needs to be reported immediately to Tech Support.

How to Report an Incident/Issue
Call Technical Support immediately at 281-998-6137. If the event happens after hours, please leave a voicemail and click the Employee Request or Student & Public Request button (depending on your role), and provide details of the incident.
