Employee Password Reset Instructions

Article Summary

The San Jacinto College Password Self-Service System enables employees to reset their password quickly and conveniently online. Your password automatically expires 365 days from when you last created or changed it. You will be locked out if you do not change your password before it expires. If this happens, you must contact TechSupport@sjcd.edu (281) 998-6137 to reset your expired password.

Note: To reset your password, your mobile phone number and personal email address must be current in SOS. This information is used to send you a one-time authentication code via SMS or email. For help updating this information, see Updating Your Phone Number & Email in SOS.

One-Time Code with SMS/Alternate Email

1. Using your web browser, go to: sanjac.edu/password

2. In the Username field, type your SJC Employee Username (Firstname.Lastname@sjcd.edu), then select Go.

3. Under the Password field, select the Forgot Password? link.

4. After selecting Forgot Password?, you'll receive a text message with a one-time code on your cell phone. Enter that code in the box and select Go.

5. To use an alternate email address, select Try another method. You'll receive a one-time code by email. Enter that code in the box and select Go.

6. Create a new password. The new password must be at least 12 characters long, & three of the four following requirements must be met: one number, one special character, one lower-case letter, and/or one upper-case letter. Once you finalize your new password, click Go.

NOTE: You cannot use your first name or last name as part of the password. You also may not use any of your prior 5 passwords.

7. You have successfully reset your password. You can now close this window.

Password resets are not provided over email. For password reset assistance, please call Technical Support at 281-998-6137 or visit a Campus Service Desk. You can also click on Password Reset Request to submit a service ticket and be contacted by a Tech Support agent.
