Why do we need MFA?
Beginning Monday, January 23, 2022, all students are required to enroll in Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). This change is required by Federal and Texas State Laws to improve protection against unauthorized access to the College’s systems and data.
What does MFA mean for me?
This change means that in addition to your Username and Password, you will also be required to verify your identity by either entering a one-time code sent to your phone via text, answering an automated phone call, or using the Microsoft Authenticator App when you are off campus and signing in to the College’s systems.
Can I enroll in MFA?
Yes! Follow the instructions below to enroll in MFA.
Sign In to Your Security Info
1. Using a web browser on your computer, visit https://outlook.com/sjcd.edu.
2. Sign in using your Username and Password.
3. Click on the top right icon and then click View account settings.
Set Up Your Default Sign-In Method
1. Select Security info from the left navigation pane or from the link in the Security info block.
2. Next, select Add sign-in method.

Note: You can have multiple sign-in methods, but your default sign-in method should be your preferred method for using Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). If you want to change your default sign-in method, see below.
