The San Jacinto College Password Self-Service System enables students to reset their password quickly and conveniently online. By using this service, you can change your password and gain access to a variety of SJC systems including SOS, Blackboard, and student email.
Note: To reset your password, your mobile phone number and personal email address must be current in SOS. This information is used to send you a one-time authentication code via SMS or email. For help updating this information, see Updating Your Phone Number & Email in SOS.

Instructions
To reset your password, please follow these steps:
1. Using a web browser, visit the Password Self-Service System at sanjac.edu/password.
2. In the Username field, type your SJC Student Username, then click Go. 
Your USERNAME is your last name dot first initial the last six numbers of your G# followed by @stu.sanjac.edu.
(LastName).(FirstInitial)(LastSixG#)@stu.sanjac.edu
For example, if your name is John Doe and your G# is G00430697, your username will be: Doe.J430697@stu.sanjac.edu

3. On the password screen, click the Forgot Password? link.

4. A new window or browser tab will open. You will be prompted to enter the SMS Authentication code you received via text message on your cell phone. Click Go.

4a. For an alternate email address option, after selecting Forgot Password?, click the Try another method link.

4b. A new window or browser tab will open. You will be prompted to enter the Email Authentication code you received via email. Click Go.

5. A new window or browser tab will open. You will be prompted to update your password.
6. Create a new password. The new password must be at least 12 characters long, & three of the four following requirements must be met: one number, one special character, one lower-case letter, and/or one uppercase letter. Once you finalize your new password, click Go.
 NOTE: You cannot use your first name or last name as part of the password. You also may not use any of your prior 5 passwords.

7. You have successfully reset your password. You can now close this window.

Password resets are not provided over email. For password reset assistance, please call Technical Support at 281-998-6137 or visit a Campus Service Desk. You can also click on Password Reset Request to submit a service ticket and be contacted by a Tech Support agent.
