Instructions

Windows 10

  • Open your Windows File Explorer and navigate to the folder in question and select any file in that folder.

  • In the Home ribbon, the Copy Path icon will become available. Click it to copy the path. You can then paste the folder's path into any text field.

Windows 11

  • Open your Windows File explorer to the file location you are looking for.
  • Then select any file in that folder location. Make sure not to double click. We are not opening it just selecting it.
  • When you have selected the file, you will select the three dots at the very top of the file explorer window. You will then see an option to Copy Path.
  • Select that option and your path to that file location will be in your clipboard. Then you will be able to paste the path into any text field needed.

Mac OS

  • On your Mac, click the Finder icon in the Dock to open a Finder window.
  • Choose View > Show Path Bar, or press the Option key to show the path bar momentarily. The location and nested folders that contain your file or folder are displayed near the bottom of the Finder window.
