Respondus LockDown Browser is a secure browser for taking tests in Blackboard. It prevents printing, copying, going to another URL, or accessing other applications during a test. If a Blackboard test requires the LockDown browser be used, you will not be able to complete the test with a standard web browser.
Students who have used the Lockdown Browser in the past will notice a change in Ultra Courses. Your test will now be started using a regular web browser which will launch the Lockdown Browser when you begin. You will still need to install the SJC Lockdown Browser from the links below and install to your device before taking your test.
The software linked below is only for installation on your personal device. If you are using a computer issued to you by the college or by your High School you will need a different version. You can contact IT Technical Support for help with installations on San Jac computers. Please contact Technical Support at your school for help installing on devices issued by your High School.
