FAQs
Will our logins change?
No. You will continue to use your San Jac network login to access SOAR.
No. SOAR is not an acronym and was intentionally chosen. SOAR aligns with our Raven mascot and reflects the ambition, momentum, and upward path we want for our students and our college.
When is SOS completely going away?
SOAR will launch in phases over the next year, starting March 30, 2026. The SOS system will still be available until 2027 to ease the transition.
What do students need to know?
Students should continue using SOS for now. There is a planned student rollout, and students can start using SOAR in September 2026.
When will SOS be changed in all places where it appears?
By September 2026, we need to start using SOAR in place of SOS throughout College systems, websites, and materials.
How was the new SOAR name selected?
Employees were asked to submit name suggestions. Several names were proposed and included in a college-wide survey shared with students and employees. The majority supported choosing a new name, and SOAR received the most votes.
What are the rollout phases for this project?
The project began in February 2025 and included training, surveys, site design, user testing, and production build activities.
- Initial Launch (March 30, 2026): Home, Employees, Finance, and My Account tabs
- Second Phase (September 2026): Student, Faculty, and Financial Aid tabs

Who do employees contact for questions or help with SOAR?
